LEAGUE CITY / KEMAH, TX – June 1, 2009 – PR NEWS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Jeff Johnson, Executive Manager, Texas Coast Yachts, LLC, announces his business partner, Gerry Laster, will head up the Sales Operations and General Management of the company’s operations in League City/ Kemah.

Laster comes to Texas Coast Yachts with an extensive background of boating and business management. During Gerry’s recent history as a new and used Yacht Sales Consultant and Professional Yacht Broker, he has achieved a consistently impressive record of sales in the Gulf Coast area. His sales success has also extended to both East and West coasts of the U.S., Europe, South America, and Central America. Accomplishments in new boat sales have included national recognition from both Hunter Marine and Jeanneau AMERICA.

From an executive and sales management perspective, Gerry’s background includes appointments as Sales Manager, Regional Sales and Service Director, GM, EVP, and President. In each capacity, he was recognized for business and sales development. He has served as a sales representative, sales trainer, sales manager, marketing director, and operations executive in the communications technology industry with carryover into the Boating and marine industry. His employment associations have included Dilkes (Kenner) Boat Manufacturing, Coast Catamaran (Coleman Companies), the New Jersey School of Sailing, and Fortune 500 and international corporations, as well as smaller entrepreneurial endeavors. Most recently, before the Texas Coast Yachts business venture, he served as Sales Manager for Ship and Sail, Inc. and prior to that was an independent yacht broker and professional yacht sales consultant.

Laster’s broad-based education, product certifications, and experience have kept him involved in the construction, design consulting, equipment enhancement, marketing and sales of boats from the manufacturing side of the marine business. As a USCG licensed Captain, during this same period, he has been certified and active in delivery, towing, vessel inspections, sea trial consultations, and teaching the art of sailing.

An industry professional, pleasure cruiser, formerly a nationally ranked racing sailor, and sometimes liveaboard, Captain Gerry’s sailing has taken him on the waters of all Gulf Coastal areas from Texas to Florida, the Atlantic, Pacific and Caribbean Seas and has allowed him to travel the inland waterways of the U.S.
