Texas Coast Yachts Principals take first Jeanneau finish, 2nd in Fleet, and 3rd in Division at Harvest Moon offshore race
Jeff Johnson and Gerry Laster, racing the Jeanneau 49DS, “Between the Sheets” took three trophies in the Harvest Moon race offshore on the Texas Gulf coast.
On October 17, 2008, Jeanneau owner Jeff Johnson, from Montreal, Canada, with his Captain, Gerry Laster, set sail in the Harvest Moon Regatta along with crew Brad and Kristy Fiebig. This race is 150 miles along the Texas Gulf Coast from just offshore at Galveston Island to Port Aransas Pass and is annually the largest regatta on the Gulf Coast. This year the regatta experienced a slight reduction in total entrants (due to Hurricane Ike) and yet there were still over 150 boats in the race.
Sailing Jeff’s 2006 Jeanneau 49DS, we placed 2nd in our Fleet and third in our Division (Cruising Class w/ cruising spinnaker – no pole), as well as 1st Jeanneau to finish.
